April part 2

This weekend the really good weather finally turned up.  After a momentary panic on Friday morning I found some climbing partners for both days.  First up Joe and I headed out to the island of Canna.  I had never considered climbing on Canna before and certainly not for just one day.  It was a bit of an early start but well worth it.IMG_1400Early morning light on the Cuillins of Rum.IMG_1410colBunkhouse crag.  Absolutely stunning location.  Definitely have plans to come back and stay in the bunhouse and explore some of the other areas.

Next up it was a quick switch of climbing partners and it was off to Ardnamurchan with Mark, Oliver and NaomiIMG_1439

We bumped into Andy Nisbet who was checking out routes for the new guidebook.  Andy’s partner leading the brilliant “Return of the Jedi”IMG_1453-2 Andy Nisbet seconding “Return of the Jedi”  IMG_1463 Naomi leading the classic “Yir”IMG_1467 So much rock!  Oliver leading “Greta Gabbro”IMG_1473Mark working out which route to climb next – you can just see the other guys on “Volcane” behind himP1040996 copyCopyright Andy Nisbet – Andy was kind enough to send me a picture of me leading “Star Wars”,  Took a couple of tries at this section but got there in the end.

Lets hope this good weather continues right through the summer.
